Our History

​

The Wilson Harrison Foundation was founded in 2011 by Richard and Stacey Wilson, who are also the founders of Benjamin Banneker Preparatory Charter School (BBPREP) in Willingboro, New Jersey. The Foundation was named in honor of Richard and Stacey Wilson’s parents, reflecting their families’ legacy and a shared commitment to education, service, and creating opportunities for future generations.

Richard Wilson serves as Principal and CEO of Benjamin Banneker Preparatory Charter School, while Stacey Wilson serves as Executive Director of the Wilson Harrison Foundation. Together, they have worked to expand educational opportunities and provide young people with the academic, social, and personal foundations needed for lifelong success.

Our Mission

The Wilson Harrison Foundation is dedicated to strengthening education and expanding academic opportunities throughout Burlington County, New Jersey. Through grants, scholarships, mentorship, educational enrichment, and community partnerships, the Foundation invests in students and educators while supporting initiatives that promote academic excellence, positive character development, and lifelong success.

Our Partnership with Benjamin Banneker Preparatory Charter School

​

As a proud and longstanding supporter of Benjamin Banneker Preparatory Charter School, the Wilson Harrison Foundation is committed to helping create transformative educational experiences and brighter futures for students and families.

Benjamin Banneker Preparatory Charter School opened its doors in September 2012 and serves students in Kindergarten through eighth grade. The school’s mission is to prepare students to succeed in high school and college by promoting high academic achievement while addressing the social and emotional development that builds character, effective social relationships, and respect for self and others.

The Wilson Harrison Foundation supports BBPREP’s academic programs, extracurricular activities, student enrichment opportunities, and character-development initiatives.

Reaching Beyond BBPREP

​

The Foundation’s commitment to young people extends beyond Benjamin Banneker Preparatory Charter School and into the broader Burlington County community.

The Foundation has developed programs specifically designed to support high school students, including:

• The Talented Tenth — a program established for high school males to encourage leadership, achievement, personal responsibility, and positive character development.

• F.E.E. (Females Empowered to Excel) — a program established for high school females to encourage confidence, achievement, leadership, and positive character development.

Through these initiatives, the Foundation seeks to empower young people to recognize their potential, develop strong character, pursue educational opportunities, and become productive leaders within their communities.

Scholarships, Fundraising &

Community Support

Throughout the year, the Wilson Harrison Foundation conducts various fundraising initiatives to generate resources that directly support its educational mission and youth programming.

The Foundation also recognizes the accomplishments of local students by presenting an annual book award to a graduating high school senior in Burlington County.

Through the generosity of donors, families, businesses, educators, and community partners, the Wilson Harrison Foundation continues to expand opportunities for young people and invest in programs that make a meaningful and lasting difference.
